Transitional Kitchen
My client was working with a kitchen company for several months before I was called in to finish the project. The client did a great job selecting the cabinets and their kitchen fabricator did a great job on reconfiguring the space. It just needed the finishing details, and as we all know, it is the details and finishing touches that bring a room together. I selected a 3x6 marble subway tile for the backsplash and for the area over the stove I selected a 2x4 marble subway tile. Subway tiles are a classic design and enhance the timeless feel of the kitchen. The TV in the kitchen was a great idea my client had. I decided to have the TV built into the wall rather than mounted to the wall. This gave it a cleaner look and creates the illusion of a piece of art on the wall. Next the custom window treatments were designed to add some softness to the space. A kitchen can be a angular room with many hard surfaces. The soft curve of the treatment provides some needed relief. The coffered ceiling was painted in a dark grey. This adds depth and richness and grounds the room. While the white cabinets kept it light. Finally the accessories were purchased at Bed Bath and Beyond. Love these marble chargers and bowls. This kitchen will never go out of style!
